Electrified panic exit devices (panic bar) can be very costly. Even an after market latch retraction kit can be too pricey for most people's taste. This low cost, easy to install (no tools required) electrified trim kit is ideal for customers who already  have existing Von Duprin 99 Exit Devices on their doors. The trim is unscrewed from the door, the kit is installed and hooked up and you are ready to go. Low voltage, low amperage and no need for a special power supply or Von Duprin PS873 booster.

Additional benefits are that the rods on a vertical rod device can be totally out of adjustment and not have any effect on the electrified operation of the device trim. If you have a power booster and heavy solenoid in the panic bar, the rods must be perfectly adjusted and balanced in order for the large amperage solenoid to pull the rods and release the door. No so with this trim kit.
